Any album? This, and it's not a particularly difficult decision:

"The single most important thing for a hitter is to get a good pitch to hit. A good hitter can hit a pitch that’s over the plate three times better than a great hitter with a ball in a tough spot.”

At this moment either Dire Straits first album Dire Straits or Todd Snider's East Nashville Skyline
I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.

Excellent pick. Lamb Lies Down on Broadway would be a good one in the same vein to be stuck on an island with, too.

I think I would go Who’s Next by The Who, Radiohead The Bends, Tom Petty Wildflowers or the White Album.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

    6. Electric Ladyland - Jimi Hendrix - I’d like to rate this higher but there is a lot of dreck on here. But it’s best is best.
    5. The Cry of Love/First Rays of the New Rising Sun - Jimi Hendrix - very underrated and it still sounds fresh to me. It’s tragically stupid he died. I would have loved to see where he went next.
    4. London Calling - The Clash - after punk and before drugs and success got the better of them. Brilliant.
    3. B*tches Brew - Miles Davis - every time I listen to this (and that’s a lot), I hear something new.
    2. Layla and other assorted love songs. - Eric Clapton - before Clapton became a cliche and in it for the money. And Duane Allman drove him like nobody ever did before or since.
    1. Live At The Fillmore East - The Allman Brothers Band - this is still a regular on my playlist. Guitar music at its best. ABB with Duane was brilliant.
If Little Martha were on Filmore East I might choose that album. I'd probably be happy with any of these, to be honest. Also, right now I can hear CSN&Y coming from the basement and am reminded there is so much great music from the late 60s we could put on this list.

If it's an island, I'd have to go with Bob Marley's "Legend" compilation. Nothing more peaceful and serene than that.

    Re: ONE ALBUM

Mine would be my favorite, but lesser known artists:

Ray LaMontagne - God Willin' & the Creek Don't Rise
    Amos Lee - Mission Bell
Ryan Montbleau - Heavy on the Vine

For more mainstream it would have to be Rubber Soul or Let it Be by the Beatles or Live at Leeds by the Who (father in law turned my onto this album last year).
