Our only chance is that Hoover is like 18-1 this year...he deserves this win so maybe he'll get #19 on the season.

JJ's been very bad here in September, but come on guys...he was rock solid most all season long.

The hours I've spent this season watching the bull pen blowing leads I could have found a vaccine for Ebola

No way would I trust Hoover in any high leverage spot. Unfortunately, Price won't think outside the box and use Chapman in the 8th against the heart of the lineup, and use someone else for the 9th against the bottom of the order.

He had a good stretch when he didn't give up any home runs, but I just don't like the peripherals. Still too many walks, and the strikeouts have gone way down. And the HR/9 eventually normalized, and the H/9 might not be done normalizing either if tonight is any indication.

LaMarre pulled a hamstring yesterday in Milwaukee.

I think Price made the switch with an eye toward offense as well, and he thinks Schumaker is a better overall choice than Boesch.
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

Rosenthal won that battle. Nice pitch on 3-2

BP seems to have spent the offseason in STL sipping their fountain of youth. Good season for the old man.

I don't disagree. But going into September he was 6-0 with a 1.77 era with a very solid WHIP as well. You can point to any peripherals you want, but those are EXCELLENT results for anybody. Prior to this month, he would've had to have gotten some consideration for comeback player of the year.

Bruce seems to never come through in critical situations.

Hoover has been inconsistent to just bad for the last couple of months, since the all star break he has pitched as well as he did last season!
