CINCINNATI – Since he was cut by the Reds from the Spring Training roster on March 18 and outrighted off their 40-man roster before Opening Day, left-handed pitcher Brandon Finnegan has yet to pitch an inning this season in the Minor Leagues.

Instead, Finnegan is working on his craft far away from the glare.

“We are trying some interesting stuff with Brandon to get him back where he was,” Reds president of baseball operations Dick Williams said on Thursday. “That’s included involving some outside third parties to take a look at his mechanics and kind of work with him on some strengthening programs.”

They can rebuild him, they have the technology.

    Who else could it be.
The television crews left and about 10 reporters remained in the room. That's when Price took his turn doing the talking.
What followed was a five-minute, 34-second expletive-filled tirade. The final tally was 77 uses of the "F" word or a variant and 11 uses of a vulgar term for feces (two bovine, one equine).

    What the training looks like...

I won't be too upset if Finnegan can get back all his mojo and pitch great with the big club before his contract expires. Is he still technically under contract?

Wait...just looked it up.. He gets $555.000 guaranteed this season.. I should get paid at least half that for everything I've contributed to the Reds starting pitching staff this season which is exactly the same as Finnegan has contributed.. I suppose there's something to be said for being 26 years old as opposed to 60 with a torn rotator cuff and zero professional baseball experience.. But hey, if the Reds wanted to pay me I wouldn't turn it down. I've completely given up on holding my breath waiting though.. I like breathing for the most part..

^ He’s not a FA until 2023. I assume there are some private things going on behind the scenes with him and now they are trying to reinvent him a bit. I wouldn’t completely give up on him yet as long as he’s still working hard to get better. I’m rooting for him.

I think you're thinking of former Red Jack Armstrong
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

Looks to me like Finnegan is going to some extreme lengths to start over
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Still think he could be a bullpen piece at some point. If he can get/stay healthy he has the the talent.

He'll be a minor league free agent long before then.

Why is he making Major League minimum.....Finnegan is not on the 40 man?
