Reds tend to go quietly with men on base.

Of course, Dusty could have hit Votto for Janish. Frazier could have then played SS.

Now Lecure gives up infield hit.

Well, then so does most of the league as the Reds' OPS+ with men on is 111.

As the Reds head to another loss, now trailing 5-2, I don't feel like looking up a bunch of stats to argue with you.

But if this is a good clutch hitting team, I'd hate to see a bad one.

My guess is in the blowouts, the Reds OPS big time and the rest of the time not so much. Like Kc61, I don't feel like looking it up. The bottom line is they are losing and no stats will erase that. They can OPS 1.250 and if they are losing, it makes no difference.

Bcuce homers to make it 5-4 with Sappelt on base. Nice

Bruce is one strong dude. Votto would've gone to LF with that.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Bruce almost went yard oppo on the previous pitch. Just foul.

Whatever the clutch stats, Dusty's decision to let Janish hit with the bases loaded really burns.

    From the Marlins' transmission:

Yonder's sister was a "mermaid" (cheerleader) for the Marlins.

Totally agree. the biggest sin, however is ever starting him. That is a big black hole in the lineup. Of course, that is IMHO.

Reds go quietly in the 8th and with what is coming up, I guess we might as well end another losing streak for the opposition

"Men on" and "clutch" are two different things.

Like I said, if they're losing what difference does it make? They could bat .400, have an OBP of .400, and OPS high, and if they lose more than they win, it really doesn't matter.

Sorry if I'm not up on the technical nomenclature.
