If I'm Philly I walk Votto here and make Bruce beat you
This will not change until the Reds win the World Series.......

The playoffs last year were an example. This game is similar. I think O Cabrera said it after Halliday's no hitter.
Great pitchers that are established have always got calls. The Phils are just loaded with great pitchers so it only seems like it's a Philly thing.

Sappelt has to feel relieved there. He got lucky on that one.

I've watched most of his major league games. Looks to me like a high contact, low power, low walk guy. We'll see.

I'd double steal. If it doesn't work, Votto leads off the 9th.

The bad defense of Alonso is so strong that it's aura seems to have stayed around to the Phillies half of the inning.

The REDS now have a non-contender tag on them. They won't get any calls against teams considered contenders. Even at home.

    Doesn't make it right.

Wait for tomorrow, with Halliday. He can bounce it up there for a strike.

Massett pitched poorly last time out. Therefore he must come in tonight.

It's not right. Bothers the crap out of me. I pine for robo-umps to put an end to this stuff.

I haven't seen all the game. Has Alonso even sniffed a ball at third?

I will give Sappelt credit when credit is due. He can cover a lot of ground, and he easily runs down line drives in the OF.

Don't think so. That is, don't think Alonso has had a fielding chance.
