Latos only needs to pitch 7 scoreless now...

They probably wanted to make is as normal as possible for him. I know it sounds stupid, but him warming up, even his full warmup, for 45 minutes on the game mound may throw him off. This allows him to warm up in the bullpen as normal.

Now you can PH for LeCure and bring Latos in for the 3rd.

This game is already far more than I bargained for. It would really be something if they pulled it out somehow.

Sorry, I would have joined the thread earlier, but after Cueto's injury I ran outside and screemed "Whyyyyyyyyyyyy????"
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

He is lucky that didn't find the gap and score 3. A very well hit ball.

All these pitching machinations won't matter if the Reds don't hit.

    C'mon offense.
