We've got a former Cardinals owner as our owner, a former Cardinals executive as our top executive, and a former Cardinals coach as manager. We've got more pure talent on the roster than the Cardinals. And yet...

People are getting way too worked up about this.

This bastardized season is not worth getting upset over; it is little more than a glorified Spring Training season that is being played just so the clubs can recoup their TV money. In fact, today's game (which I believe is the first game this season I have watched from the opening pitch to the final out) felt exactly like a Cactus League game -- from the multitiude of unknown players logging innings to the red batting practice jerseys with the script "Reds" on the front. And at the end of the game, I felt exactly the way I feel when the Reds lose a game at Goodyear -- that is, it had absolutely no effect on me.

So I recommend that folks just watch the game at face value -- win or lose, just for some relaxation for a couple of hours, because life is stressful enough right now.

Only one swing of Davidson's bat prevented a 4 game sweep. 🙁

Make him the highest paid manager in MLB history if u have to.
If not him, get Ned Yost.
I don't know. Barry has never managed in the MLB (recurring theme for the Reds), but right now, I'd take anyone with a proven record at the top level. I guarantee if the team starts winning, it will all go away. I still remember those Price supporters. Alas, unless you pay the price, this is the way it is.

I hope they start winning in spite of the situation.

And once again, Pic asks a question that contains the "gimme" answer.

This short season is why I am so worked up. It's the best chance they've had in years to sniff the playoffs, and they're blowing it. On the other hand, this team doesn't deserve to be there anyway. No way they belong.

When does someone, anyone get fired? This is embarrassing. We have two guys maybe hitting their weight? I didn’t think I could be more disappointed than the last five seasons...then came 2020.

Yeah, but making a playoffs that includes over half of the league is no accomplishment. And no matter what some people might think, the "2020 World Series Champions" are ALWAYS going to have a huge asterisk attached to them for the rest of eternity.

So just relax, enjoy the game for a couple of hours, and eat some ice cream afterwards.

Exactly, this was a crucial series, no sense of urgency.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

No asterisk in my mind. As long as you lift the hardware at the end of the season you get my acknowledgement as the champion.

But man this season is really getting away from the reds. It's not happening all at once with a long losing streak where we are getting swept in series.. it's like a gradual thing

Not if it’s a team like most teams nowadays that don’t steal bases as a means to score runs.
What difference would team speed do for them if they don’t get hits or even walks?
They would just make faster outs.

I would take any way they could get it. One asterisk or 10, I wouldn't care.

Are you getting paid by the post?
Between you and the other posting walking heart attack....how many times can you post the same rants about how you can believe how bad this Team really sucks and how they sucked you in to believing. It’s a 60 game season.
It’s not really worth investing in a season like this when it’s basically only a 2 month season.

Go see who was in 1st place after 1 month of every season for the last 10 years of every division. See how that turned out at the end. Then see how this whole thing is not really worth taking seriously.

Also, the Brewers got swept by the Pirates, so there's that.
