As Winker has slumped, Votto has stepped up. Votto seems to be laser-focused right now and really enjoying the game.

So much fun to see. Best hitter I may ever see in Cincy—I’m trying to enjoy each and every game of his before he retires.

I know I’ve been hard on David Bell, at times comparing him to Bryan Price, the master of one-run losses. No more. Yes, he drives me crazy a lot of the time, but he’s no Price. I see he is 14-6 in one-run games.

Votto OPS is .817 now. That's better than Goldschmidt and Rizzo.

So all the complaining in this thread about lineup. Shogo pinch hits makes a out. Naquin Homers to tie it up. Lopez pinch hits strikes out. Suarez game winning hit.

.817 is quite good this year in a pitcher dominated year. The league average OPS is .717 and not a single team has an OPS above .800 this year.
