Especially glad to hear that Larkin made it. He's one of my top two or three favorite Reds of all-time. Not only is Barry a Reds HoFer, but he also belongs in Cooperstown IMO.

So is Hermann the Reds owner towards the beginning of the 20th century?

I love the BRM as much as anyone, but I'm not so sure that Cesar Geronimo belongs in the HoF (some will say this is blasphemy for questioning this). He only had 4 years of over 100 hits, and never OPS'd .800 in any year.

Great OF'er though!

Anybody have any idea if Larkin will be at Redsfest, perhaps on Friday since they have a Reds HOF event scheduled?

Gary was also one the three headed monsters who ran the NL in the first part of the century. Mr Consensus was a born politician who ran the Reds when they were run by a "syndicate" that included the Fleischman's Yeast family. Eventually he wrested control and ran the whole she bang until the late 20''s when he went deaf and retired.

Joey Jay?

Kill Me... why not Pete Schorek or Danny Jackson..

Did they annouce dates? I'd love to make it into town for Barry's. He's my favorite baseball player of all time.

Barney Dreyfuss must be having a chuckle now that he's going into the national HOF while Herrmann is only in the Reds HOF.

I guess the second question to that is, I wonder if the Reds will set up an autograph booth for Larkin? And if he will have a booth, when he'll be signing and what time those autograph tickets would be available.

I've got an authentic Larkin jersey, and I'd love to get his autograph on it so I can get it framed. Unfortunately, I've pretty much realized that Redsfest is likely by far the best opportunity I'll ever have to get Larkin to sign that jersey.

Yeah I bet he is... I have somewhere in my house this editorial cartoon from the early part of the century, concerning the Dreyfuss/Herrmann feud (Based on Herrmann ruling that the Browns got George Sisler and not the Pirates) The comic depicted Barney as a small, very "jewish stereotype" and Herrmann as a Teutonic character. Not very PC by today's standards.

I think they said July 19th. I'm going to try to talk my parents into flying me back to Ohio for it as a late birthday gift. I can barely pay for my tuition, books, and rent, so there's no way I can come back without their help. Let's hope they feel generous!!!

I guess the plan is to put every BRM member in, and Joey Jay? was he REALLY popular or something?

Larkin is a no brainer
