Nope. Jay is a liar who hates Cincinnati and only loves money. He would have signed both offers if he truly loved the Reds.

He should have signed the extension, foregone the salary and played for per diem until he died.

If he really loved the Reds, he'd play for free.

It makes sense to trade Bruce. He's not getting any younger and will want pretty big money, and our strength as an organization, outside of maybe pitching depth, is in the outfield currently in the minors. Winker, Yorman, maybe Meso, and several others. Bruce has proven the knee is no longer an issue and that he's not as bad as he played last year. Several teams, such as the Angels, would kill for a lefty bat to slot in the middle of their lineup.

Are we still going to get weekly updates of Bruce my beloved Raisor when he's in another one of his 0-for-2-weeks slump?

There's not much depth when it comes to guys close to the majors. I am high on Winker and Rodriguez but neither is completely ready to step in right now and perform well. Kyle Waldrop is the only other guy in AA or higher who is particularly noteworthy and he just started in AAA (and is finding out it's pretty tough).

I am not 100% opposed to trading Bruce, but he is not easily replaceable at all in-house.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Only .798. I knew he couldn't make it.

If he REALLY LOVED the Reds, he'd take the money he made last year and buy us all season tickets (with unlimited beer, soft drinks and grub).

I've been doing daily updates since the middle of May. So yes.

Agreed. I am not going to assume any player in the minors is guaranteed to step in and replace Bruce. Winker and Rodriguez may eventually be great MLB players, but at one time Jay Bruce was a minor league player with a seemingly unlimited ceiling.

The better he hits, ironically, the more likely he's gone.

Bruce is among the six best bats on the market.

Where does he fit within the following list?
    Bruce
    Carlos Gomez
    Carlos Santana
    Marlon Byrd
    Justin Upton
    Adam Lind

And yet, they find themselves ranked 2nd and 3rd in OPS on the season
