Sad as it is to say and as much as I like him, I think it'd probably be worth dealing Straily too from the Reds standpoint. He's not a world beater, but he's effective for his price and would make a good starter or a potentially late inning BP arm for a team needing pitching.
I could see him being the Jose Guillen of 2016. A cheap stopgap who outperforms his projected value so much he becomes a good trading piece. Hopefully if they do trade him they can get the 2016 prospect version of Aaron Harang again at least...
As far as the Royals, without looking at his numbers, did Moustakas ever improve on his early numbers? I know he's hurt, but would he be a good buy low/offer a modest extension candidate? The guy at least had some elite potential once upon a time.

Right now keeping Bruce looks like it may have been a smart move, especially since Yorman got injured and Schebler wasn't ready for primetime which would have left a gaping hole in the OF. He's slashing .272/.323/.549 right now on June 1st, and June has been a traditionally good month for his bat. But of course, this is Jay, so anything could happen.
But come early July, we could be looking at a much better return than the bag of balls that Jay haters wanted him dealt for in the offseason.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Apparently Marlon Byrd is about to be suspended. Perhaps the FO should give Cleveland a call but this time not start with Cody Allen.

Empathy is about standing in someone else's shoes, feeling with his or her heart, seeing with his or her eyes. Not only is empathy hard to outsource and automate, but it makes the world a better place.

Except for nothing like the return the Padres got for Latos.
Maybe they've learned from their mistakes, because they made a huge one in not ponying up for Frazier. Cleveland's got to stop calling it a curse when its own teams are doing it to themselves.

Creative idea. It would be interesting to see if the Tribe bit on that.

If the Reds can keep Jay in-state, it *would* soften the blow at least a little bit if they do end up trading him. :<
