The 2015 list meant entering the 2015 season. There wasn't a prospect list entering the 2016 season that had Peraza as a top-25 overall prospect in baseball. You're saying he was top 25 a year before the trade. Not when the trade was made. Big difference.
PS: Frazier is now up to 18 HRs on the year; .OPS of .815. Just imagine what the Reds could get for him right now if they hadn't panicked when the Chapman-for-Peraza deal fell through. I can assure everyone of this: The Reds would get more than Peraza and two throw-ins for Frazier if they would have held on to him until the 2016 trade deadline. (And yes, I know Brandon Dixon is having an incredible stretch at Pensacola. But he's a 24-year-old at the Double-A level. Forgive me if I think he'll never be a factor for the Reds and is simply having a hot streak playing against younger competition in most cases.)

No point crying over spilt milk. The key is not making the same mistake with Bruce as was made with Frazier. Hold out for a good deal or don't move him. Would we have had a better return with Frazier right now? Yeah. Would it also have just been nice to keep Frazier in general? Yeah. However dwelling on it will help us in no way -- the important thing is just that the FO is smart about our transactions moving forward.

Yea, I agree.
And honestly.. I will even say this.
IF Bruce has that mindset, I don't blame him.
He's not dumb. He knows that this year is a big year for him. Based on what he does this year, he will either get a nice contract in the offseason or he will have to be someone's 4th OF and try to work his way back as a starter, which is hard to do after you've been branded as washed up.
Bruce knows his offensive numbers will matter more than the defensive ones.
Why should he risk getting hurt making a diving catch on a 100 loss team?
IF Bruce is thinking that way, I really don't blame him.
Why risk reinjuring something and possibly ending his career.
I can not read Bruce's mind, but my wild guess is that if he was playing for a contender, his defensive effort would improve. And I am not criticizing him for that.

I would be thrilled with Jose Ramirez.
But I think the time to get him was before this season when he looked like a former top prospect that lost his luster.
Although maybe Cleveland still had faith in him and he wasn't available.
Here's a nice update article on him

I doubt 193 at bats this season changes Bruce's market value significantly (Sadly).
The Reds couldn't give Bruce away in the spring, even if they ate 8 million of his salary.
So I don't see a big haul for Bruce, although I hope I am wrong.
I don't think anything could get the tribe to part with CFraizer or Zimmer.. That's just not the way the Indians work (which I disagree with, this is the year for them to go for it).

Bruce is currently hitting .280/.332/.591 for a .923 OPS. Top 20 OPS in baseball, I think? (just checked - he's 18th in OPS in all of MLB) Given that offense is still at a premium, I hope they are indeed still shopping him, and I hope teams know the asking price should have gone up from what it was over the winter/spring...

I think the answer is that expectations have to be lowered.
I would be thrilled to get another Peraza or Jose Rameriz for Bruce.. Heck, I would be happy with a prospect that is a potential future setup guy, kind of like Masset was when he was a prospect.
So trading Bruce for another Tim Hummel.. yes, I agree with you.. that is pointless.. But for a guy with a decent change of being a major leaguer, even a backup? I make the deal.

So you're completely happy with trading Bruce, a proven 30+ HR hitter who, outside of injury seasons, puts up .320+ OBP, averaging 3.7 WAR over 4 seasons and generally good defending in RF, who is under 30, for...someone who might one day be an average or back-up player?
Insanity.

To continue the idea of 'Bruce to Cleveland':

If Bruce was dealt to Cleveland, what should we expect to be a decent return?
