Please, no more fleas. The Reds have Hamilton and Peraza and Johnson isn't an upgrade over either of them. I'd rather have an international slot instead of Johnson. The Dodgers really can't use them this year

I love the Verdugo and Barnes idea. Barnes would be an immediate upgrade behind the plate and he and Barnhart could make a really strong tandem, IMO, and Verdugo would be a legit RF option in a year or so. The Reds should kick something in (not sure what) if needed to make that happen.

How about paying Bruce's salary for the rest of the year plus the buy-out?

I'd do it. Reds won't. Wonder if LA would want Cingrani as another lefty relief option. Bruce and Cingrani for Barnes, Verdugo and some international slot money.

I'd rather the Reds not send their only viable LH bullpen guy, but in a lost season it doesn't matter much.

Agreed, but he's not lights out or anything. His lack of secondary stuff doesn't even make him much of a lefty on lefty match-up guy. Lamb or Finnegan probably ends up there.

Yes, yes and yes to this. I'd ask for Verdugo and Calhoun for Bruce, and hope they bite. Verdugo is a must in any trade with LA.

Barnes is an older prospect ... If the reds go after him - it makes the catching situation in Cincy interesting for sure.

Depends on what they think about Mesoraco. Missing two years even with no injuries is pretty difficult to come back from and he only has a couple of expensive years left if he does. I'd imagine he's either a washout or a July17 deadline chip. Cabrera is expendable and Barnhart will be a FA before Stephenson or Okey are ready. IIRC, Barnes can play other positions so they could probably carry all three next year if Mesoraco is back.

Verdugo and Cody Bellinger would work for me, if the Dodgers didn't want to part with Austin Barnes.

I wouldn't mind Willie Calhoun either (with the understanding that he's likely headed for a corner OF spot soon).

Barnes and Barnhart could hold down the catcher position for years until Okey, Stephenson, and/or Turnbull are ready.

Not Bruce exactly but by the end of July, Disco is going to have 8-10 starts behind him showing him to be healthy and effective. Does he go on the block?

I'd offer Bruce and Cingrani (or Lamb) for Verdugo, Barnes and Calhoun

I'd take that in a minute.

    Doubt the Dodgers would, though.

I'd say no on dealing any starters. Finnegan and Lamb haven't exactly established themselves, Iglesias may be limited to the pen and Stephenson can't throw strikes.
