A CB is a fair pick if that's the best available. Turner and Hill are ok, but they need more than 2 CBs and I believe those 2 are free agents next offseason.

But no injured player who needs to comeback and no more project.

Cornerback play is volatile. Unless you can draft a Surtain, I'd almost put corner in the same category as running back when it comes to drafting them in the first round.

The Bengals trying to outsmart the rest of the league in the draft? I can't imagine such a thing.

If we end up taking someone like McCoy over Downs and the Bengals end up losing a lot of OSU fans because of it, I think it's a fair trade.

Tobin spoke about wanting pass rush from everyone up front on the defensive line, so he's giving lip service to the issue at least. I have to think it's going to be one of the d-lineman or Downs.

The risk for the Bengals with gambling on first round picks doesn't really fit the profile of a guy coming off an ACL.

The Patriots spent $300M on Defense in Free Agency and hit on all of them.

Our Defense sucks because Tobin sucks and Ownership sucks for treating the Bengals like a toy.

Same here. I don’t care how good a cover guys skills are, if your team has no pass rush, he’s going to get beat often, especially with today’s rules.

But thereis a legitimate chance the best pass rushers will be gonewhen the Bengala pick.

If so, should they reach for a need or take abetter prospect at another position?

I'm good with Caleb Downs. Think of how many games we lost last year due to Geno Stone?

As the rest of the AFC North teams make sweeping staff changes, the Bengals are standing pat after a 6-11 season. Retaining Zac Taylor and de facto GM Duke Tobin, the Bengals are also not making scouting changes, the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Kelsey Conway notes. The Bengals have the NFL’s smallest scouting staff, employing just six full-timers. That is a fraction of where most teams’ staffs sit. “Our scouting staff is, in my opinion, the size that it is because I think the collaboration is better at that size,” Tobin said. “We have never lacked for information on a player. There’s never been a player selected that we didn’t have multiple reports and a large background on. It’s not about the volume of information we have.”

If Downs is gone, as well as Bain/Bailey/Reese, I'll go BPA and take a corner like Mansoor Delane over Faulk (who might not even be there, either) or any of the other edges who still might be on the board. Easy. There's a pretty big fall off after those first couple of guys, IMO. Plenty of other edge rushers I like in the 2nd and later, just not at 10. Other options could be DTs Kayden McDonald or Peter Woods. Again, I don't like Woods at 10. I like McDonald more than him, but I'd also probably trade down at that point.
