Well yeah, I meant over the full year, and his production going forward for the forseeable future. I see that as his contribution level as long as he stays healthy, which is why I'm fine with giving him a contract. Like I said before we don't exactly have a lot of relative "sure things" on this roster, and there aren't exactly many grade A prospects banging on the door to take his spot. I don't mind at all having Bruce and Votto as the veteran presences on the team -- they're both really well liked, and are great bats to have in the line-up when healthy. Phillips will be off the books soon and there's more than enough money to hold on to Bruce.

OK I missed the game yesterday. Someone please explain this:

    Jay Bruce RF-CF-RF-CF-RF
    Tyler Holt CF-RF-CF-RF-CF

    Thanks.

Empathy is about standing in someone else's shoes, feeling with his or her heart, seeing with his or her eyes. Not only is empathy hard to outsource and automate, but it makes the world a better place.

Went into extra innings, and they were playing with a 5-man infield at several points with Bruce taking the "CF" spot.

Hope it helps his UZR and WAR!!!!!

I come up with seven teams. Boston's said they want another LH OF, so they'd be number 8.

    The list:
    Kansas City.
    San Francisco.
    Chicago (AL).
    Los Angeles (AL).
    Los Angeles (NL).
    Detroit.
    Cleveland.
    Boston.
I don't know why but I just have a feeling Bruce will end up staying with us all year. Just don't think anyone will offer enough value to make it worth trading him instead of just picking up his 2017 option. Do others think there's an acceptable deal out there?

If Votto at .248/.377/.443 is cooked, imagine how well done/burnt these dudes all are:

    Giancarlo Stanton - .193/.301/.416

    Andrew McCutchen -.234/.313/.397

    Jason Heyward - .234/.325/.338

    Matt Kemp - .254 /263/.478

    Adrian Gonzalez - .268/.350/.385

    Jose Abreu - .262 /.321/.422

    Adam Jones - .242/.292/.432

    Justin Upton - .230/.283/.349

    Prince Fielder - .201/.273/.316
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Why is it when infielders are moved around during shifts that their positions aren't changed? (Personally I think they should be.) For example, when Suarez moves to the right side of second base with DatDude playing shallow RF and Zack staying at the traditional SS location on the field. IMO Cozart should technically be the 3B in such a formation, since he is the infielder on the far left. Suarez would then be the SS (unless he's tucked between Brandon and Joey, in which case Brandon would be the SS and Suarez would be the 2B).

As for the five-man "super infield", I think the two outfielders should be designated as "LF" and "RF". The CF is the player stationed immediately behind (or in front of) second base.

But these are just my opinions.

To be fair Fielder and Kemp actually do look completely cooked, if they're not playing injured.

I wonder if Marlins ownership is about to have a stroke over Stanton's contract right now. They wished he was cooked like Votto.

I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.

Fielder now salivating at the thought of eating Kemp and himself.

Just don't say stick a fork in them next or who knows what'll happen.

Is Joey "well-done" or still fairly "rare?"

I think its great you think his .810 OPS is stellar. Since we aren't allowed to mention when he isnt a run producer. His 0.9 bWAR may catch his 1.4 bWAR from 2014 at this rate!!!
