Marty was also the voice of the ABA's Virginia Squires.
During the 1972-73 season, future HOFers Julius Erving and George Gervin were both on the Squires roster. Another lesser known feather in Marty's cap that he was able to call some of those games.

A great recent interview on Jim Day's podcast. I think it was just released on Monday. I had no idea Marty was a heavy smoker and quit in early 1990. He said him and Joe would go through 5 packs during a double header. A very good listen for sure as they were having some beverages during the interview.

Word up is last night may have been the first time Marty had sat in the stands to watch the Reds game and not having to announce. In the early 80's Joe and he broadcast some games from the Red seats in Riverfront Stadium.
